How to Hack Cookie Clicker on Android

Cookie Clicker by DashNet is the idle game that started the genre. On Android it doesn't use preferences at all: the whole game is one JSON file, CookieClickerSave.txt, and the number on screen is right there as "cookies". I clicked 25 cookies and turned them into 999,999 with CheatDroid's text editor.

   Open CheatDroid, allow root, and tap Cookie Clicker in the app list.

   Tap the search icon, type CookieClickerSave and open files/CookieClickerSave.txt. If CheatDroid says the game is running, tap Force stop.

   Near the top, after "seed", find "cookies": and change the number after it. Leave the comma. Tap the check mark to save.

   Start Cookie Clicker again. The counter above the big cookie shows the new amount.

What else I found

• "cookies" is near the start of the file. If the editor opens at the end, scroll up.
• Leave CookieClickerSavePrev.txt alone. It’s the game’s backup, and the game reads the main file.
• It sticks: clicks after a restart count on from the new number.
• Tested on version 8 (Play build 10114).
