How to Hack Hill Climb Racing

Hill Climb Racing is Fingersoft's hill driving game, past a billion downloads on Google Play. It keeps your coins and gems in a plain preferences file, hillclimbprefs.xml, under keys named exactly that. A new install starts on 0 of both.

   Open CheatDroid, allow root, and tap Hill Climb Racing in the app list.

   Under Shared preferences, open hillclimbprefs.xml. If CheatDroid says the game is running, tap Force stop.

   The file has over 5,000 entries, so tap search and type coins. Tap the key, enter the balance you want, for example 999999999, and tap Save.

   Do the same with gems.

   Start Hill Climb Racing again. Both counters in the top left show the new numbers.

What else I found

• No checksum next to the balances; the game takes the new numbers as they are.
• Tested on version 1.72.2.
