How to Hack Scribble Rider

New to this? Start with our general guide to hacking Android games.

Scribble Rider is Voodoo’s draw-your-own-wheels racer, past 100 million downloads on Google Play. The coins on the track go into a counter in the top right corner, and the game writes that counter to its playerprefs file as a key called coins. My wheels kept missing them, so I still had 0 after two races. One edit in CheatDroid made it 999,999.

After: 999999 coins
  1. Start Scribble Rider and finish the first race, so the game has written its save. The coin counter is in the top right corner of the start screen.

  2. Open CheatDroid, allow root, and tap Scribble Rider in the app list. It has one file under Shared preferences, com.tapped.drawrider.v2.playerprefs.xml; open it and tap Force stop if CheatDroid asks.

  3. Search for coins. One key comes up, an int; tap it, type 999999 and tap Save.

    coins, 0, set to 999999
  4. Start the game again. The counter reads 999999.

  5. Race on. My next race picked up 5 coins and the counter went to 1000004, which is what the game still showed after a restart.

What else I found

  • The key is there from the first start, at 0, so you don’t need any coins of your own first.
  • The other riders are the computer. A race started with them in airplane mode.
  • Tested on version 3.9.6.
