How to Hack Fly Challenge: Build a Plane!

Fly Challenge: Build a Plane! is Freeplay’s game of slinging a home-made plane off a ramp and gliding as far as it goes, past 10 million downloads on Google Play. Coins buy plane parts and gems buy the upgrades, and both are plain numbers in the Unity playerprefs file, called Gold and Diamond. I had 20 coins and 8 gems after two flights and set both to 999,999.

   Open CheatDroid, allow root, and tap Fly Challenge in the app list.

   Under Shared preferences, open com.mmc.flychallenge.v2.playerprefs.xml. If CheatDroid says the game is running, tap Force stop.

   Search for Gold, tap it, change the number to 999999 and tap Save. Those are the coins.

   Do the same with Diamond for the gems.

   Start the game again. Both counters at the top right read 1,000.00K.

What else I found

• It sticks: coins and gems both count down from the new balances, restart included.
• Gold and Diamond only turn up in the file after the first flight.
• The races are against the clock, not against other players.
• Tested on version 1.29.1.
