An app keeps crashing after I edited it. How do I fix it?

If an app crashes after you edited it, put the file you exported back, or clear the app’s data. An edit can leave an app in a state it never expected, a negative number of lives or a level that doesn’t exist, and some apps don’t survive that.

Export first, every time

Before you change a file, export it: the ⋮ button next to it in CheatDroid’s file list, then Export. Exporting is free. If the app breaks, Import puts the copy back in place (that part is Pro), and the app is where it was before.

No copy?

If you remember what you changed, open the file again and set the value back. If you don’t, clear the app’s data in Android’s settings, or uninstall and reinstall it. That fixes it reliably, but a game starts over from the beginning, unless it keeps your progress online.

I can’t take responsibility for what an edit does to an app or your phone. Experiment on games you can afford to start again, and keep a copy.
