CheatDroid 2.5 release notes

The 2.5 line ran from January 2019 to August 2020: the first versions I published here after Google Play removed the app. Everything those six releases changed is on this page. The version after 2.5.5 is CheatDroid 4.0, a rewrite that installs over 2.5.5 and keeps its license.

2.5.5

Fixed a navigation bug where the back button didn’t work correctly on some devices.

2.5.4

A small maintenance release with a handful of bug fixes and no new features.

2.5.3

Stability and usability fixes, mostly in file navigation, so finding the value you want to edit in an app’s files took fewer taps.

2.5.2

A Logcat viewer, in beta, for developers who wanted to debug apps on the phone. It opened from the List Apps window under More Options, then Show Logs.

2.5.1

  • An automatic update check, so the app told you when a new release was out.
  • Back to the original package name. The two people who had bought Pro by then had to enter their license once more; the license itself kept working.
  • Minor fixes.

2.5.0

The first release published here. Google Play had removed the app the July before, the mails kept coming anyway, and so I tried selling it myself, with no idea whether that would carry the project or end it. It brought licensing (Pro) and a round of performance and UI improvements.
